Awards

The North Carolina Association of Historians has established two awards for papers presented at its annual meeting each year. A cash prize accompanies each award.

The Brewster Award

Faculty who present papers at the annual meeting may enter the competition for the Brewster Award. An individual who wishes to be considered for this award should submit  an electronic copy of his or her paper to the NCAH Secretary-Treasurer Jim Martin no later than April 20th of the award year.  The winner will be announced on or before May 10th. If the author wishes, the paper will be published in the next issue of the Journal, pending successful completion of the journal’s peer review process.

The Midgette Award

Undergraduate and graduate students who present papers at the annual meeting may enter the competition for the Midgette Award. An individual who wishes to be considered for this award should submit  an electronic copy of his or her paper to the NCAH Secretary-Treasurer Jim Martin no later than April 20th of the award year. The winner will be announced on or before May 10th. At the discretion of the awards committee and the journal editor, the winning paper may be considered for publication in the Journal.
